This full-time position is dedicated to providing specialized mental health services to children and adolescents in a remote outpatient office setting located in East Amherst, New York. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, gathering valuable insights into the developmental, emotional, and behavioral needs of children and adolescents.

• Develop individualized treatment plans that are tailored to each patient, factoring in family dynamics, cultural background, and specific mental health issues.

• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and play therapy, to support young individuals facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other behavioral disorders.

• Facilitate family therapy sessions to equip parents and caregivers with essential tools and strategies to nurture their child’s growth and address any family-related concerns.

• Work alongside child psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive, coordinated approach to patient care, contributing to team discussions on care strategies and patient progress.

• Offer immediate crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing mental health emergencies, ensuring a calm and safe environment for the individual.
\n
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and community resources, empowering them to make informed decisions.

• Maintain accurate documentation regarding patient interactions, assessments, and treatment plans in accordance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems effectively.

• Engage actively in team meetings, seeking continuous professional development and sharing insights on best practices in child and adolescent psychiatry.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The role emphasizes a child and adolescent client base, focusing on young individuals grappling with various mental health issues. This population may include children diagnosed with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders. The therapist will work closely with families, fostering communication and understanding to build supportive environments conducive to healing and growth.

Qualifications\n

• A relevant Bachelor's Degree is required, with preference given to candidates possessing advanced degrees in fields such as Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.

• Must hold current licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent in the state of New York.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, with demonstrated expertise in individual and family therapeutic settings.

• Strong understanding of contemporary mental health issues that impact children and adolescents, well-versed in evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with a genuine passion for improving the lives of young individuals and their families.

• Ability to build rapport and trust with children and adolescents, using a child-centered approach to therapy.

• Familiarity with EHR systems and basic computer applications is essential.

• Capability to foster collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care.

Compensation and Benefits\n
