Compensation: $95,000 - $100,000/year + bonus

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)


Atlantic Group is hiring a Property Accountant in Boston, MA for our client, supporting property accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and portfolio accounting activities within a commercial real estate environment. This opportunity will work closely with accounting, finance, operations, leasing, and development teams to maintain accurate financial records and support the accounting function across a portfolio of real estate assets. The ideal candidate will bring public accounting experience with real estate clients or property accounting experience within a real estate organization.


Responsibilities as the Property Accountant:

• General Ledger Accounting: Maintain monthly general ledger activity and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions for assigned properties.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with accounting policies and reporting deadlines.
• Tenant Accounting: Manage tenant billings, including common area maintenance charges, utilities, real estate taxes, and other property-related recoveries.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with annual budgets, forecasting activities, and financial analysis for property portfolios.
• Cash Management: Monitor cash activity, support cash reporting, and assist with funding and account reconciliation processes.

Qualifications for the Property Accountant:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• Experience: 2-4 years of accounting experience within public accounting, property accounting, or commercial real estate accounting is required.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience with commercial real estate accounting, financial statement preparation, and general ledger management is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required, and experience with MRI, AvidXchange, Anaplan, or similar accounting systems is preferred.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment are required.
