Key Responsibilities\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Elite Family and Youth Counseling Services, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive clinical assessments of clients to evaluate their mental health status and identify appropriate treatment needs.

• Formulating and implementing individualized therapy plans tailored to address specific issues such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and behavioral challenges.

• Facilitating regular therapy sessions—both individual and group—to equip clients with coping strategies, self-discovery tools, and practical solutions for overcoming their challenges.

• Providing referrals and coordinating care with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure clients receive comprehensive support as required.

• Maintaining accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) to document patient care and monitor progress.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will encompass a broad range of clients, including adolescents, young adults, and families facing unique mental health challenges. Many of our clients struggle with substance use issues, mood disorders, anxiety-related conditions, and coping with life transitions. You will apply cultural competence in your approach, ensuring care is respectful and responsive to individual needs, backgrounds, and circumstances.

Qualifications\n

To thrive in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of California.

• A minimum of two years of hands-on clinical experience working in mental health settings.

• A deep understanding of mental health disorders and familiarity with scientific, evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Exceptional crisis intervention skills, with the ability to manage high-stress situations effectively.

Compensation and Benefits\n
