Insightful Journeys Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team in Newark, New Jersey. This full-time position, set in a remote work environment, is focused on providing specialized mental health care to children and adolescents facing a range of emotional and behavioral challenges. Work Environment

The position offers a fully remote work setting, allowing our Mental Health Therapists to provide flexible care that meets the needs of our clients. You will have the freedom to design your workday while adhering to our standard operating hours of Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional evening shifts might be required based on the needs of our patients, ensuring that we are available to offer support when it is most needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate the psychological and emotional needs of children and adolescents.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that cater to the unique developmental stages of each young patient and their family dynamics.
• Employ evidence-based therapeutic modalities to address mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavior disorders.
• Facilitate family therapy sessions to empower parents and caregivers in fostering a nurturing environment for their children.
• Collaborate with child psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, coordinated care.
• Provide crisis intervention and support for children and adolescents experiencing mental health emergencies.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment strategies, and community resources that can support their journey.
• Maintain up-to-date and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Actively engage in team meetings and case consultations, contributing insights that enhance patient care and organizational practices.
• Stay abreast of current research and advancements in child and adolescent mental health to inform best practices and enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with children and adolescents, addressing various mental health challenges. Our client population includes diverse backgrounds, and your role as a therapist is crucial in tailoring approaches that meet cultural and individual needs. The empathetic support you provide can significantly influence their recovery and overall well-being.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensing as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of New Jersey.
• In-depth knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders, along with proficiency in evidence-based treatment approaches.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering both individual and family therapy to young clients.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, paired with a child-centered and compassionate approach.
• Ability to foster trust and rapport with children, adolescents, and their families.
• Proficient in the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant computer applications.
• Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of two years of practical experience in a mental health counseling setting, preferably focusing on children and adolescents.
• Experience in developing treatment plans and conducting family therapy sessions.
• Knowledge of community resources that can assist families in navigating mental health challenges.

Compensation and Benefits
