Privia Health Psychotherapy Services is excited to announce an opening for a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. In this full-time remote position, you will engage with clients to assess their mental health needs and formulate tailored therapeutic plans aimed at fostering recovery and growth. This role is critical in supporting individuals grappling with various mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, or eating disorders, ensuring they receive the guidance necessary to overcome their personal hurdles.

Work Environment

This position offers a fully remote work setting, providing flexible arrangements while maintaining high standards of care. As part of a community health clinic, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for our clients. Digital tools such as electronic health record (EHR) systems are utilized to streamline communication and treatment planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of clients’ mental health status, utilizing a thorough understanding of industry-standard assessment tools.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans, incorporating evidence-based practices to address each client's unique needs and aspirations.
• Conduct regular therapy sessions, both individual and group, fostering a therapeutic environment that encourages open dialogue and trust.
• Provide referrals to other providers when necessary, ensuring a comprehensive continuum of care for all patients.
• Document client progress clearly and efficiently within our EHR system, contributing to accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Participate in case reviews and team meetings to discuss client progress and strategize further intervention methods.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse client base that includes adolescents and adults from various backgrounds, experiencing challenges that vary in complexity. Our clients may face acute issues such as trauma, substance dependencies, or chronic mental health conditions, requiring a culturally competent approach that respects and reflects their individual experiences.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Possession of a current and valid state license (LMFT, LPC, LCSW) is mandatory.
• A minimum of four years of relevant experience in a clinical setting is essential, with a demonstrated understanding of mental health disorders.
• Proven ability to employ evidence-based treatment approaches and culturally responsive therapy methods.
• Exceptional crisis intervention skills and an ability to maintain composure under pressure.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, adept at connecting with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and other applicable technology such as telehealth platforms.
• A commitment to ethical practices, confidentiality, and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in trauma-informed care and a background in community mental health settings are highly desirable.
• Experience facilitating group therapy sessions targeted to specific issues, such as substance abuse or anxiety management.
• Knowledge of local and state resources for mental health support and intervention is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits
