The Nurse Practitioner will work on-site in a school setting in Oyster Bay, New York. Key Responsibilities

As an Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for:

• Conducting thorough health assessments and comprehensive physical examinations for students, identifying acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Formulating and implementing individualized treatment plans, utilizing both pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches to manage health concerns effectively.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, including laboratory exams and radiographic studies, to make informed clinical decisions.
• Providing ongoing patient monitoring to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans, adjusting strategies as required based on response and progress.
• Educating patients and their families about health promotion, disease prevention, and management strategies that foster improved health outcomes.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including other healthcare providers, educators, and administrative staff, to coordinate care and enhance the overall health of the school population.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Master’s Degree in Nursing and valid New York State Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses.
• Nurse Practitioner Board Certification and current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Strong clinical skills with proven abilities in assessing, diagnosing, and managing diverse health issues in an internal medicine setting.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and rapport-building with patients and families.

Preferred Experience

We prefer candidates with at least three years of advanced practice experience in an internal medicine or primary care setting, ideally with a focus on working with adult populations in a community-oriented environment. Experience within a school health program is advantageous but not mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits
