While the majority of sessions occur during traditional business hours, some scheduling flexibility may be necessary to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed mental health assessments to thoroughly evaluate each patient's trauma history, strengths, and needs, thereby identifying the most effective treatment strategies.

• Craft and execute individualized treatment plans that focus on facilitating trauma recovery and building resilience, integrating specific goals that align with the patient’s aspirations.
\n
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), during individual and group therapy sessions.

• Guide patients through the therapeutic process, assisting them in processing trauma, developing healthy coping strategies, and fostering a sense of hope and healing.
\n
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other health professionals to provide holistic, integrated care that addresses the complete spectrum of a patient’s mental health needs.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention services for patients facing trauma-related emergencies, offering immediate support and resources when necessary.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and available community resources to enhance their support systems.
\n
• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes, ensuring compliance with all legal and ethical standards.

• Participate actively in case consultations and team meetings, contributing to the development of best practices focused on trauma-informed care.

• Stay informed about the latest research, techniques, and methodologies in trauma therapy, integrating this knowledge into practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The clients you will serve primarily consist of individuals affected by trauma, including those diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your ability to create a safe and trusting therapeutic environment will be essential in helping these patients address their unique emotional and psychological challenges, ultimately guiding them toward a path of recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• Demonstrated strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and experience with trauma-informed treatment modalities.
\n
• Ability to deliver trauma-focused therapy effectively and compassionately.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including the capacity to remain calm in high-stress situations.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications.

• Strong collaborative skills to work seamlessly as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

• Two or more years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, with a focus on trauma therapy.

Compensation and Benefits\n
