Mind Addiction Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate trauma-informed mental health counselor to enhance our team. In this full-time remote position, you will focus on providing specialized mental health support to individuals affected by trauma, helping them navigate their recovery journey with empathy and expertise.

Work Environment\n

This role is predominantly remote, allowing for flexibility while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. Although most work is performed from a home office, you may need to attend occasional in-person meetings or training sessions at our outpatient facility. Your typical work hours will be Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some scheduling flexibility to meet the needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments, evaluating patients' trauma histories to inform treatment strategies.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at trauma recovery and enhancing patient resilience.
\n
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate patient healing.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, guiding patients in processing trauma and building effective coping mechanisms.
\n
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to patient care.
\n
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and emotional support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring patient safety and stability.
\n
• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses and available resources, empowering them in their recovery process.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with legal and ethical standards, using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
\n
• Engage in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development focused on advancing trauma-informed care approaches.
\n
• Stay current with emerging research and best practices in the field of trauma therapy to continually enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on supporting individuals who have faced traumatic experiences. You will work with clients of diverse backgrounds and varying ages, helping them process their trauma, address mental health challenges, and integrate coping strategies into their daily lives. This role is particularly rewarding as you empower clients on their journey toward healing and recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• Minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, preferably with a trauma focus.
\n
• Strong theoretical knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with compassion and without judgment.
\n
• The ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations and manage challenging interactions effectively.
\n
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems as well as standard computer applications.
\n
• A collaborative spirit that fosters teamwork within a multidisciplinary care setting.

Preferred Experience\n

Experience delivering trauma-focused therapies, participation in case reviews, and working within an outpatient setting is considered an asset. Familiarity with community resources for trauma and mental health support can also enhance your effectiveness in this role.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
