Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments utilizing trauma-informed strategies to evaluate patients’ histories and determine appropriate therapeutic interventions.

• Design and implement customized treatment plans aimed at nurturing resilience and enhancing recovery from trauma.

• Deliver evidence-based therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) during individual and group therapy sessions.

• Facilitate discussions in group settings, allowing patients to share experiences, explore coping strategies, and foster community support.

• Work in close collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care for patients, sharing insights and updates to enhance treatment effectiveness.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention support to patients experiencing trauma-related emergencies, demonstrating calmness and efficacy during high-stress scenarios.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses and coping mechanisms, equipping them with tools to navigate challenges.
\n
• Maintain comprehensive and confidential client documentation compliant with legal and ethical guidelines.
\n
• Engage in regular case consultations, contributing to team discussions on treatment strategies and trauma-informed practices.

• Stay informed of recent research and advancements in trauma therapy to continuously improve client care and organizational practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The therapist will primarily work with individuals who have faced significant trauma, including survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and significant life disruptions. As a part of our trauma-informed care team, you will assist clients in navigating their recovery journeys, addressing challenges, and rebuilding their lives with resilience and empowerment.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
\n
• A strong foundation in trauma-informed treatment principles and methodologies.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to utilize therapeutic modalities specifically designed for trauma recovery.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a compassionate and non-judgmental atmosphere for clients.

• Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and related technology for documentation and patient management.

Preferred Experience\n

Compensation and Benefits\n
