Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify the specific needs and challenges faced by children and adolescents, ensuring that these evaluations are comprehensive and rooted in best practices.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that consider the developmental stages of each patient along with familial and environmental factors influencing their mental health.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to effectively address a broad spectrum of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders.

• Work collaboratively with child psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to develop cohesive care strategies, ensuring every aspect of a patient's treatment is well-coordinated.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support for children and adolescents experiencing mental health emergencies, employing swift and appropriate strategies to stabilize situations.

• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and available community resources, empowering them to actively participate in their healing process.

• Maintain precise, secure, and confidential documentation in alignment with all legal and ethical standards, ensuring patient privacy and trust.

• Engage actively in team meetings, case discussions, and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and stay updated on the latest research and methodologies in child and adolescent psychiatry.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on children and adolescents facing various mental health challenges, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and behavioral issues. Our holistic approach means you'll not only work with the young patients themselves but also engage with their families, as family dynamics play a critical role in treatment success.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution, with a focus on child development preferred.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York.
\n
• Strong knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders along with expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities and therapeutic approaches.

• Experience delivering individual and family therapy, particularly for young clients and their caregivers.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on a compassionate and child-centered approach.

• A proven ability to build rapport and trust with children, adolescents, and their families through an empathetic and supportive demeanor.

• Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and a strong comfort level with digital communication platforms.

Preferred Experience\n

While a minimum of two years of relevant experience is required, candidates with additional experience in specialized areas such as trauma-informed care or family therapy will be prioritized. Familiarity with community resources in the Brookhaven area, as well as experience working in telehealth environments, will be valuable advantages.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, complemented by performance-based bonuses.
