Work Environment\n

This role is primarily remote, offering flexibility while connecting with our established outpatient community health clinic in Haverstraw, New York. Although the work setting is virtual, you will have access to a wealth of resources and support from our multidisciplinary team and will actively engage in virtual meetings to foster collaboration. Our work schedule typically runs from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts to accommodate the needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed mental health assessments to identify the psychological, emotional, and developmental needs of children and adolescents.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans, taking into account the unique backgrounds, family dynamics, and developmental stages of each patient.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and play therapy, to address a range of mental health conditions.
\n
• Facilitate family therapy sessions, empowering parents and caregivers to support their children in a nurturing and understanding manner.
\n
• Work collaboratively with child psychiatrists, social workers, and educational professionals to coordinate care and optimize treatment outcomes.

• Provide crisis intervention services during mental health emergencies, ensuring timely and effective responses to safeguard the well-being of our young clients.

• Educate patients and families about mental health issues, treatment modalities, and community resources available to them.
\n
• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation in compliance with applicable legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently.

• Engage in regular team meetings and case consultations, contributing insights and sharing knowledge to improve team effectiveness.

• Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and advancements in child and adolescent mental health through ongoing professional development.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will primarily work with children and adolescents experiencing a variety of mental health challenges, including, but not limited to, anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, and various behavioral disorders. Your approach will be family-centric, aiming to include caregivers in the treatment process as a way to build a strong support system for the young individuals you serve. Ensuring a compassionate, child-focused stance is paramount in establishing trust and rapport with patients and their families.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current, valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of New York.

• Demonstrable knowledge of child and adolescent mental health issues, coupled with a strong command of therapeutic models and practices.
\n
• An extensive background in providing individual and family therapy, particularly with younger populations.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, assuredly navigating sensitive conversations with a child-centered, empathetic approach.

• Proficiency in EHR systems and relevant technology applications, ensuring smooth information management.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team committed to the best interests of our patients.

Compensation and Benefits\n
