Work Environment

This is an onsite role within our outpatient office setting, designed to facilitate effective therapy sessions. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team, working closely with other healthcare professionals to create comprehensive care plans that reflect best practices in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of assigned patients, selecting appropriate assessment tools and creating individualized treatment plans that follow established standards of care.
• Implement and manage specific treatment programs aimed at restoring and maintaining patient function, improving mobility, alleviating pain, and preventing long-term disabilities.
• Document each evaluation and treatment session accurately within our electronic medical record system, ensuring that all billing charges are correctly recorded.
• Perform patient screenings, which may include assessments for Lymphedema, fall risks, or rehabilitation needs, to determine appropriate therapeutic interventions.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to discuss patient needs, share insights, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Deliver presentations, contribute to publications, and guide interns/students, enhancing departmental education initiatives and fostering professional growth.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work primarily with a diverse outpatient caseload, including patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, managing chronic pain, and addressing both developmental and learning disabilities. Your expertise will also extend to pediatric patients, enabling you to adapt treatments based on varying developmental stages and specific needs.

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy license in the state of Florida.
• A minimum of one-year clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Proficiency in trigger point therapy techniques and strong foundational knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Demonstrated ability to apply therapeutic practices effectively with pediatric patients.
• Familiarity with current hospital medicine practices and a proven ability to work comfortably across clinical environments, including both outpatient and inpatient care.
• A Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy is required.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in outpatient therapy settings.
• Ability to provide care in high-pressure situations and demonstrate flexibility in varying work conditions.
• Previous involvement in mentorship or educational initiatives is a plus.
