This position is exclusively remote, allowing counselors the flexibility to work from home while maintaining a standard 40-hour work week. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations and assessments using evidence-based methods to determine the mental health needs of clients.

• Provide crisis intervention and support to patients during critical episodes, guiding them through actionable plans for stabilization.

• Collaborate actively with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, psychiatrists, and other healthcare providers, to manage patient care effectively.

• Work closely with the Department of Correction to ensure that patients have access to appropriate housing and treatment options.
\n
• Facilitate group therapy sessions on mental health observation units and contribute to individual treatment plans.

• Document all client interactions and progress meticulously, complying with necessary regulations and ensuring the safety of patient information.

• Engage in clinical supervision with a licensed supervisor to discuss cases and receive valuable feedback.

• Participate in case conferences and treatment planning discussions for patients actively receiving and being considered for mental health treatment.

• Occasionally conduct psychological testing to obtain further insights into clients' needs and conditions.

• Oversee social work interns and student volunteers, providing mentorship and guidance as needed.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The counselor will serve a diverse client population, including individuals experiencing varying levels of mental health challenges and crises. Qualifications\n

• A master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling is required.

• Valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California, or the ability to attain licensure within a designated timeframe.
