The position follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the possibility of occasional evening shifts to accommodate patient needs. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments tailored to the unique characteristics of older adults, including their cognitive, emotional, and social needs.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that integrate behavioral therapies and consider the physical health and social circumstances of each patient.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and family therapy, to effectively address a variety of geriatric psychiatric conditions.

• Engage in regular collaboration with geriatric psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to ensure care is holistic and synchronized across all treatment modalities.

• Provide crisis intervention techniques as needed, offering immediate support during mental health emergencies involving elderly clients.

• Educate patients and their families on mental health issues, therapeutic approaches, and available community and support resources.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential patient documentation that adheres to legal and ethical standards while utilizing our electronic health record (EHR) system.

• Participate actively in team meetings and contribute insights during case consultations to enhance collaborative care efforts.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on elderly patients facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, dementia, and the emotional toll of life changes. Many of our clients are navigating complex family dynamics, health-related transitions, or loss, which necessitates a deep understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and a compassionate approach to therapy.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current licensing as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW within the state of California.

• Strong comprehension of geriatric mental health, along with a keen understanding of various therapeutic modalities.
