Work Environment\n

This position is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility in your work schedule while providing therapy to clients in an outpatient setting. You will have the autonomy to manage your own calendar and the comfort of working from home, while also having the support of a collaborative team environment. Typical working hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as per patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify the unique needs of elderly clients, ensuring a thorough understanding of their mental, physical, and emotional health.

• Design and implement individualized treatment plans focused on evidence-based strategies that take into account cognitive changes, physical health conditions, and social contexts.

• Utilize therapeutic modalities including individual therapy and family therapy to address issues specific to the geriatric population.

• Work collaboratively with geriatric psychiatrists and medical professionals to ensure integrated and whole-person care for elderly patients.

• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support to clients experiencing mental health emergencies, ensuring a swift and effective response.

• Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and community resources to empower them in their care journey.

• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

• Engage in ongoing professional development by participating in team meetings, case consultations, and training opportunities.

• Stay updated on advancements in geriatric mental health and evidence-based practices to ensure high-quality care delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your work will primarily focus on the geriatric population, addressing diverse mental health issues that arise during the aging process. This includes working with clients facing dementia, depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders. You will be expected to build strong, trusting relationships with elderly clients and their families, enabling them to engage meaningfully in their treatment and support plans.

Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in California is essential.

• Demonstrated understanding of geriatric mental health disorders, including treatment modalities appropriate for this demographic.

• Strong interpersonal communication skills with a patient-centered, empathetic approach to therapy.

• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and related technologies for client management.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, preferably within geriatric settings.

Compensation and Benefits\n
