Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments and psychological evaluations to understand clients' mental health needs.

• Develop, implement, and regularly update personalized treatment plans that cater to both traditional and alternative therapeutic methods.

• Utilize a variety of evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques.

• Provide remote and, when appropriate, in-person counseling sessions to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Maintain meticulous client records, documenting treatment plans, therapy sessions, and progress notes in compliance with ethical and legal standards.

• Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals across disciplines, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient care.

• Engage in ongoing professional development to enrich therapeutic skills and stay current with mental health research and trends.

• Participate in support groups, and facilitate educational workshops for clients and their families about mental health and available community resources.

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines to ensure the safety and dignity of all clients.

• Other duties as assigned, in alignment with the counselor's competencies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Mental Health Counselor will focus primarily on clients dealing with the complexities of cancer and other serious health issues. This role is dedicated to providing empathetic support to individuals navigating various phases of their health journey, including diagnosis, treatment, recurrence, end-of-life planning, and survivorship. You will also work with families and caregivers, empowering them with strategies and resources to promote emotional well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field is required.

• Current active license as a Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Clinical Social Worker (LMHC, LMFT, LICSW) as per state regulations.

• Authorization to work in the United States.

Compensation and Benefits\n
