Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' histories and identify tailored treatment methods.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate patient growth.

• Deliver both individual and group therapy sessions to provide a supportive atmosphere for patients to address their trauma and enhance their coping strategies.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and various health professionals to ensure integrated and holistic care for each patient.

• Respond effectively to trauma-related emergencies with crisis intervention strategies, providing immediate support to those in distress.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and community resources to enhance their understanding and engagement in the recovery process.

• Maintain accurate, confidential documentation per legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance and accountability within the practice.

• Engage in team meetings, case discussions, and ongoing professional development activities centered on trauma-informed care.

• Stay abreast of the latest research, trends, and best practices in trauma therapy to continuously improve treatment methodologies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary client focus for this role includes individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. This role primarily interacts with trauma survivors seeking professional guidance and support for their mental health needs. With a compassionate approach, you will help clients process their experiences and promote healing through structured therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience preferred.

• In-depth understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.

Compensation and Benefits\n
