Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional passionate about special education! A contract position is open for an experienced Special Education Teacher, conveniently located near Rossville, GA, and serving a well-supported elementary environment. This role runs from July 29th, 2026, through May 21st, 2027—including pre-planning days—offering full-time hours (7:00am–3:00pm, 37.5 hours per week).

Take on a manageable and rewarding caseload of up to 10 students, primarily supporting Kindergarten through 2nd grade. You may also have the chance to teach an additional segment in upper grades as needed. The current assignment comes with minimal behavioral concerns, and no students requiring toileting care are expected at this time, allowing you to focus on meaningful instruction and growth.

Ideal qualifications and experience include:

• Valid and active GaPSC Teaching Credential
• At minimum, a P-12 Special Education General Curriculum Endorsement
• Experience with early elementary and/or upper grade special education populations preferred
• Strong collaboration, communication, and organization skills
• Commitment to fostering inclusive, positive classroom environments
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet varied learning needs

Key responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver individualized instruction in accordance with IEP goals
• Work closely with support staff and classroom teachers to create cohesive learning experiences
• Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Engage in IEP meetings and coordinate with families as needed
• Participate in professional development and pre-planning activities
