Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in an inclusion classroom setting. This contract position runs from late July 2024 through May 2027, offering the opportunity to engage students in PreK through 2nd grade—primarily first and second graders, with some kindergarteners. You’ll work closely with a small caseload of 8-10 elementary students, guiding them on their educational journey and making a positive impact in their lives.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) Teaching License
• P-12 Special Education (SPED) endorsement required
• Dyslexia endorsement required
• Prior experience in K-2 special education settings strongly preferred
• Understanding of individual supports for students with autism, developmental delays, learning and speech/language disabilities, and self-regulation challenges
• Comfortable collaborating with general education teachers in an inclusion model

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to meet IEP goals
• Support students with a range of needs, including autism spectrum disorder, developmental and language delays, and learning disabilities
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
• Collaborate with general educators, related service providers, and families for student success
• Monitor, document, and report on student progress; adjust instructional strategies as needed
• Provide supervision and guidance for one student’s toileting goal (no changing required)

This position offers full-time hours (37.5 per week) and follows the school calendar, including designated pre-planning days. You’ll have the chance to build strong relationships, grow professionally, and support a close community of students and staff.
