Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This role, beginning in early August and extending through late May, offers a rewarding opportunity to support children ages 3-5 with diverse abilities. The ideal candidate will have experience and enthusiasm for working in early childhood special education, especially in a setting where individualized instruction and personal care are critical.

In this full-time, contract position, you will:

Qualifications:

• Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate with both Special and General Education endorsements applicable to Pre-K.
• Prior experience teaching or supporting children in special education, ideally in early childhood settings.
• Knowledge of instructional strategies for students with limited verbal skills and those requiring behavioral support.
• Experience or willingness to assist with toileting/diapering and feeding.
• Strong collaborative and communication skills, working closely with support staff and families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction to meet the individualized goals of each student.
• Support the needs of non-verbal or low-verbal students, implementing augmentative communication strategies as appropriate.
• Assist students with feeding, toilet training, and diapering as part of the classroom routine.
• Address and redirect behavioral challenges in a nurturing and empathetic manner.
• Maintain thorough documentation and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for students.
