Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Joint Journey Physical Therapy, you will:

• Consult with patients to assess their physical conditions and symptoms through in-depth discussions and observations.
• Diagnose movement dysfunction and devise personalized treatment plans aimed at rehabilitation and improved mobility.
• Instruct patients in the correct application of therapeutic exercise techniques tailored to their specific needs and goals.
• Utilize manual therapy techniques, such as stimulation and massage, to promote healing and alleviate pain in patients.
• Guide patients in using medical equipment, like wheelchairs or walkers, ensuring they are comfortable and confident in their mobility aids.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting progress, goals, and adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
• Engage with both patients and their families, providing education on home care treatment options and exercises to support ongoing recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice caters to a wide demographic, treating children, adults, and seniors with various physical, developmental, and age-related conditions. Each therapist at Joint Journey Physical Therapy plays a pivotal role in addressing unique challenges, guiding patients through rehabilitation from injuries, surgeries, and chronic conditions such as arthritis and stroke.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. Additionally, we expect the following qualifications:

• A valid physical therapy license in the state of Virginia.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for patient interaction and documentation.
• Competence in word processing and computer applications for record-keeping and treatment planning.
• A flexible approach to work, adaptable to the varying demands of home care settings and the needs of patients.

Preferred Experience
