Work Environment

This role is an onsite position in the Fredericksburg area, requiring travel to patient homes for therapy sessions. You will navigate various community settings, adapting your interventions for diverse environments. Your schedule will typically consist of 40 hours per week, including variable weekends, allowing for flexibility in managing patient appointments. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients in their homes, evaluating functional limitations and mobility challenges to create individualized treatment plans.
• Implement therapeutic interventions, continuously monitoring and adjusting strategies based on patient progress and feedback.
• Deliver ongoing patient education to ensure understanding of treatment plans, exercises, and recovery processes, while involving family members or caregivers as necessary.
• Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, and patient outcomes, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and professional standards.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians and referral sources, to update them on patient progress and collaboratively address care needs.
• Engage in community outreach initiatives to foster awareness of physical therapy services and promote healthy lifestyles.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. You'll be expected to offer culturally sensitive care, adapting your approach to meet the diverse needs and backgrounds of each patient. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy is required; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.

• Proficient in electronic medical record systems and basic computer skills, including word processing.

Experience in home health therapy, particularly within an orthopedic context, is highly desired.
