Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients, encompassing a detailed review of medical history and specific physical assessments to formulate individualized treatment plans.
• Communicate evaluation findings and treatment strategies effectively to patients and their families, ensuring their active involvement in setting achievable therapy goals.
• Implement treatment protocols tailored to patients' evolving needs, demonstrate proficiency in therapeutic techniques, and remain flexible in response to changes in patient conditions.
• Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration, recognizing when to consult with other healthcare providers and documenting necessary modifications to treatment plans.
• Oversee discharge planning and follow-up care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress, including legible daily notes and comprehensive discharge summaries that reflect patients' treatment journeys.
• Manage time effectively to meet productivity expectations while maintaining a punctual and organized schedule. Participate actively in departmental meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to department goals and compliance with regulatory standards, ensuring the quality and safety of patient care.
• Take initiative for professional growth, pursuing continuing education opportunities and mentoring students or newly licensed therapists.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by providing flexible and attentive care, breaking down barriers to access, and engaging with initiatives to improve service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily involve working with a diverse outpatient population, including individuals recovering from surgery, injuries, chronic pain, and various musculoskeletal conditions. Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required, along with a valid state license to practice as a physical therapist in Virginia.
• Must possess American Heart Association's Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers to ensure emergency preparedness in the clinical setting.
• While prior work experience is welcome, newly graduated DPTs with enthusiasm for learning and providing quality care are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with at least two years of experience in outpatient physical therapy settings will be favored.
