Work Environment

The physical therapist will work onsite in our state-of-the-art rehabilitation center located in Richmond, Virginia. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial evaluations to assess patients' physical abilities and limitations, taking careful medical histories and performing necessary assessments.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings, collaborating with patients and their families in goal-setting for recovery.
• Implement treatment protocols that may include therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation.
• Monitor and document patient progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary to reflect changes in patients' conditions or goals.
• Participate in case conferences with other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of treatment sessions, including evaluations, daily notes, progress summaries, and discharge plans, in line with regulatory standards.
• Manage effective time and productivity expectations, maintaining an organized schedule to accommodate patient needs.
• Engage in marketing initiatives to promote our services within the community and ensure accessibility to our care.
• Act as a mentor for students by providing clinical instruction and guidance during their training periods.
• Contribute to departmental objectives by participating in goal-setting and compliance activities regarding accreditation standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a varied patient demographic, including individuals recovering from injuries, surgeries, chronic pain disorders, and those seeking rehabilitation for neurological or musculoskeletal conditions. Each patient requires a tailored approach, ensuring that treatment plans are respectful of their unique goals, capabilities, and challenges, ultimately fostering a supportive environment for recovery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is required.
• Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
• While prior work experience is valued, new graduates with the appropriate educational background are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, previous experience in an outpatient rehabilitation setting or related post-graduate clinical experiences would be advantageous. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is also beneficial for efficient documentation and communication within our team.

Compensation and Benefits
