Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our general surgery team at Healthy Folks Clinic, located in North Las Vegas, Nevada. As a key member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages, participating actively in their clinic visits, pre-operative assessments, intra-operative support, and post-operative management. You will work closely with our general surgeon, ensuring efficient practices and high-quality patient care throughout all stages of the surgical process.

Work Environment

This full-time position requires an onsite presence within a hospital setting, where our team collaborates closely to enhance patient care. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the supervising physician to provide comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Conduct daily rounds, manage patient orders, and facilitate hospital admissions and discharges, ensuring seamless transitions and continuity of care.
• Provide tailored pre-operative and post-operative education to patients, addressing their concerns and preparing them for their surgical journey.
• Assist in the operating room during surgical procedures, including performing minor procedures and supporting the surgeon as a first assist, particularly in laparoscopic and robotic surgeries.
• Engage with emergency department (ED) and critical care unit (CCU) teams for consultations, ensuring comprehensive care for surgical patients.
• Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to foster trust and collaboration with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The physician assistant will work with a diverse range of patients, from pediatric to geriatric, each presenting unique surgical needs and health backgrounds. Your role will be pivotal in delivering compassionate care tailored to the specific needs of each patient, enhancing their surgical experience and recovery.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
• Board certification as a Physician Assistant and valid state licensure.
• DEA license for prescribing medications.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification to be obtained within the first 12 months of employment.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2-3 years of advanced practice experience in surgery or hospital medicine.
• Experience as a first assist in the operating room, particularly with laparoscopic and robotic techniques, is highly valued but not required.
• A strong commitment to continuing education and desire to stay current with evolving surgical practices.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $140,000 to $180,000, dependent on experience and qualifications. Employees are also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:
