The General Hope Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and trauma-informed Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our full-time remote team. Work Environment\n

This role offers a remote working environment that promotes flexibility while adhering to a structured schedule. Our therapists work Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with potential for slight adjustments based on patient needs. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to gather detailed information about each patient's trauma history, symptoms, and treatment needs.

• Craft and implement individualized treatment plans that promote healing and build resilience among patients recovering from trauma.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate effective recovery.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, guiding patients in processing their trauma, developing coping strategies, and enhancing their overall well-being.

• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure an integrated care approach tailored to the unique needs of each patient.

• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring patients feel safe and heard.

• Educate patients and their families about trauma reactions, available coping mechanisms, and community resources to enhance healing.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation that adheres to legal and ethical standards in mental health care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary patient population consists of individuals experiencing various trauma-related challenges, including PTSD, complex trauma, dissociative disorders, and related mental health issues. Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience with a strong focus on trauma-informed care.

• In-depth knowledge of trauma-related disorders and effective treatment modalities.

Compensation and Benefits\n
