Work Environment

You will be working in a dynamic home care setting across Saint Petersburg and surrounding areas. The role requires flexibility as you travel to client homes, providing individualized therapy sessions as prescribed by physicians. Key Responsibilities

• Direct and implement physical therapy treatments aimed at preventing disability and relieving pain while promoting patient functionality and comfort in alignment with established care plans.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants to guarantee they adhere to best practices and effectively follow care protocols.
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical abilities through diagnostic assessments of muscles, nerves, and joints.
• Analyze patient home environments to identify barriers to rehabilitation and recommend modifications to enhance independence.
• Administer therapeutic techniques, including manual exercises, traction, and other physical modalities, to promote optimal recovery.
• Fit and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices, collaborating with physicians for any necessary modifications.
• Maintain detailed clinical records, including evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, to document patient progress and inform ongoing care strategies.
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to review patient progress and participate in the holistic planning of therapy interventions.
• Consult with clients and their families to educate them on therapy processes and engage them in the care plan.
• Submit clinical and administrative documentation accurately and timely, adhering to agency policies.
• Complete functional assessments on-site and revise treatment plans based on patient progress and environmental considerations.
• Support and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants in their provision of care, fostering a collaborative approach to therapy.
• Engage in additional tasks as assigned to help meet the company's objectives and enhance patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The patients you will serve range from post-operative rehabilitation cases to individuals with chronic disabilities. You will engage with diverse age groups, each with unique challenges and care needs. By providing personalized therapy directly in their homes, you contribute significantly to their recovery journey and quality of life. Your role involves promoting not only physical improvements but also emotional wellbeing by supporting patients and their families throughout the rehabilitation process.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
• A minimum of one year of experience as a physical therapist, specifically in acute care or home care settings, or as required by state law.
• Current PT licensure in good standing for the state of Florida.
• Valid CPR certification and a valid driver's license with a reliable vehicle for travel.
• A strong commitment to clinical excellence, integrity, and quality care.

• A positive attitude and a collaborative spirit that enhances team dynamics in patient care.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role, mentoring PT Assistants in a clinical setting.

• Experience with electronic medical record-keeping systems to ensure accurate and efficient documentation.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 100,000 to 120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
