Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will:

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma history, enabling the formulation of effective treatment approaches.

• Develop and execute individualized treatment plans that prioritize trauma recovery and resilience-building, closely tracking each patient's progress.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to effectively address and treat trauma-related disorders.

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, providing patients with tools to process their trauma, cultivate coping strategies, and encourage overall healing.

• Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each patient's care.

• Provide crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies when required, showcasing your ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.

• Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, available resources, and effective coping mechanisms, fostering a supportive recovery environment.

• Maintain high standards of documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality is preserved.

Your role will primarily involve working with trauma survivors, including individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma histories, and dissociative disorders. Qualifications\n

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Kansas.

• Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities, showcasing your ability to connect with patients effectively.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, characterized by a compassionate and empathetic approach to interactions.

• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and computer applications to facilitate effective documentation of patient care.

Preferred Experience\n

We prefer candidates with at least two years of post-licensure experience in providing trauma-focused therapies and interventions, as this experience will enhance your effectiveness in this role.
