Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to better understand patients' trauma histories, strengths, and needs, allowing for a thorough evaluation of treatment options.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans prioritizing trauma recovery and fostering resilience, ensuring they align with the latest evidence-based practices in mental health care.

• Utilize effective therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), facilitating informed and meaningful therapy sessions.

• Lead both individual and group therapy sessions, guiding patients through their processing of trauma while helping them develop skills to cope with and overcome their challenges.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other health professionals to deliver a cohesive approach to patient care, ensuring comprehensive support for each individual.

• Provide crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies, employing calm and effective strategies to de-escalate acute situations.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses and coping mechanisms while guiding them through the resources available for ongoing support.

• Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with all legal and ethical standards, while actively participating in case consultations to improve treatment outcomes.

• Engage in continuous professional development activities and training focused on trauma-informed care, thereby staying current with research and best practices in the field.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses on treating individuals suffering from complex trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and dissociative disorders. Our patient population includes adults and adolescents who have experienced significant trauma and are seeking evidence-based therapeutic interventions to heal and regain control over their lives. As a therapist, you will play a critical role in their recovery journeys by providing compassionate and culturally sensitive care tailored to each individual's needs.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.

• Demonstrated ability to understand trauma-related disorders, along with familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on empathy and a non-judgmental approach in patient interactions.

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and computer applications necessary for case management.

Preferred Experience\n

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health counseling post-licensure, preferably within trauma-focused settings.

• Experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and employing evidence-based interventions.

• Ability to remain calm and composed during high-stress situations, demonstrating robust crisis management capabilities.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this role ranges from USD 90,000 to 110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
