Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual in-home therapy sessions or facilitate group therapy sessions at our outpatient center, adapting your approach to meet the specific therapeutic needs of each child.

• Utilize evidence-based techniques to teach anger management, coping strategies, and social skills, aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) or physical aggression.
\n
• Enhance the decision-making capabilities of youth and caregivers to better manage behavioral challenges encountered in the home setting.
\n
• Collaborate fully with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals, aiming to create a cohesive support network for children and their families.
\n
• Prepare and submit all required documentation including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to organizational timelines and standards.
\n
• Participate in monthly meetings, providing insights and recommendations for improving service delivery and therapeutic outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The focus of this role is on a diverse cross-section of children aged 3-20 years who face developmental and intellectual disabilities. As a bilingual therapist, you will cater to both Spanish and Portuguese-speaking families, ensuring effective communication and culturally responsive care. Helping these children navigate their unique challenges not only impacts their lives but also supports their families in building stronger connections and healthy coping mechanisms.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.

• An active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory.

• Your availability should encompass a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4 PM to 7 PM), with flexibility for weekend sessions being advantageous.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle is necessary to facilitate home visits and community engagement.

• Successful completion of a criminal background check is a prerequisite for employment.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing positive behavior support and interventions specific to the needs of children with intellectual/developmental disabilities is highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits\n
