Position Overview

Corewell Physical Therapy is actively seeking a skilled Orthopedic Outpatient Physical Therapist to join our dedicated team in our Old Bridge, New Jersey Rehabilitation Center. This full-time position is designed for an individual who is passionate about guiding patients to restore their mobility and enhance their quality of life. You will work closely with a team of two physical therapists and one physical therapy assistant (PTA), delivering comprehensive care tailored to the unique needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for:

• Assessing and addressing individual patient goals and requirements effectively through comprehensive evaluations.
• Managing a caseload of one patient per hour, ensuring focused and quality care for each individual.
• Developing tailored treatment plans utilizing various intervention techniques based on each patient's unique symptoms and recovery objectives.
• Implementing therapeutic exercises and manual therapy methods which are crucial for enhancing patients' range of motion and mobility.
• Educating patients on lifestyle choices that promote their physical health, reducing dependence on medications and avoiding unnecessary surgical interventions.
• Documenting all patient interactions, treatment plans, and outcomes in adherence to best practices and legal requirements.
• Motivating patients throughout their rehabilitation process, encouraging perseverance and progress.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, as necessary, to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Continuously evaluating treatment effectiveness and adjusting plans based on measurable outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily engage with a wide range of patients dealing with orthopedic issues, including athletes recovering from sports injuries, adults managing chronic conditions, and individuals on the path of rehabilitation post-surgery. Your expertise will be pivotal in helping these patients regain their strength, functionality, and independence, ultimately enhancing their overall well-being.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Master's or Doctorate of Physical Therapy (PT) from an accredited program recognized by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association in collaboration with the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Active state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) from the Physical Therapy Examining Committee.
• A strong commitment to continuous learning and evidence-based practice in physical therapy.

Preferred Experience

We seek candidates with at least one year of outpatient orthopedic experience who can demonstrate a robust understanding of treating musculoskeletal conditions and implementing effective rehabilitative techniques. Experience working in a sports medicine facility is a plus.
