Work Environment\n

The position is primarily remote, with interactions occurring through teletherapy platforms and occasional in-office meet-ups in our outpatient facility. As part of a committed team, you will collaborate with geriatric psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure the delivery of integrated care. While your schedule will generally follow a Monday to Friday routine from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, occasional evening hours may be necessary to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the unique needs and challenges faced by older adults, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their psychological and emotional states.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that consider cognitive, physical, and social determinants influencing elderly patients’ mental health.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including both individual and family therapy, to effectively address the psychiatric conditions common among the geriatric population.

• Work collaboratively with geriatric psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic and integrated care.

• Provide crisis intervention services, supporting elderly clients and their families during acute mental health emergencies.

• Educate clients and their families about mental health disorders, effective treatment options, and available community resources, promoting informed decision-making.

• Maintain meticulous, accurate, and confidential documentation in compliance with all legal, ethical, and organizational guidelines.

• Actively participate in team meetings, contributing to case consultations and knowledge sharing for professional development.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses on providing mental health services to a diverse array of elderly patients, including those experiencing various psychiatric conditions linked to aging, such as dementia, depression, and anxiety. You will play a critical role in fostering therapeutic relationships that empower older adults and improve their mental well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Psychologist in California.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, particularly in geriatric settings.

• Strong understanding of mental health disorders affecting elderly populations and familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, displaying a patient-centered and empathetic approach in all interactions.

• Proven ability to establish rapport with elderly patients and their families, fostering trust and facilitating engagement in therapy.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in relevant computer applications.

Compensation and Benefits\n
