Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial evaluations and ongoing assessments of assigned patients, utilizing various assessment tools and evidence-based practices to establish informed treatment goals.
• Document findings and treatment progress meticulously in our electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring all billing charges are accurately recorded and submissions are timely.
• Implement individualized treatment plans aimed at restoring physical function, improving mobility, alleviating pain, and helping to prevent long-term disabilities.
• Perform patient screenings as necessary, including assessments for conditions like lymphedema or fall risks, and develop appropriate intervention strategies.
• Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to address the comprehensive needs of our patients, bringing in a holistic approach to rehabilitation and care planning.
• Educate patients and their families on care techniques, home exercise programs, and lifestyle modifications to support recovery.
• Engage in opportunities to contribute to the professional development of the department through presentations, publications, and mentoring of interns or students.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse patient population of varying ages and backgrounds, focusing on individuals struggling with mobility impairments due to physical injuries, chronic illnesses, cognitive challenges, or developmental disabilities. Your ability to tailor your therapy techniques to meet the unique needs of pediatric patients, as well as adult populations, will be crucial as you foster their rehabilitation journeys.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A valid Florida Physical Therapist license is required.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience in an acute care or outpatient rehabilitation setting.
• Strong proficiency in trigger point therapy and a deep understanding of anatomy and physiology.
• Experience and comfort in both clinic and hospital environments are preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with pediatric patients and adapt strategies according to age and physical condition.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in an outpatient physical therapy office is advantageous, including familiarity with a wide variety of rehabilitation techniques.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documenting patient interactions efficiently.
• Understand the dynamics of hospital medicine and collaborative care approaches.

Compensation and Benefits
