Key Responsibilities

As a Family Nurse Practitioner at FlexStaff Medical Center, you will:

• Conduct thorough health assessments and physical examinations tailored to patients of all ages, ensuring their unique healthcare needs are met.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood tests and imaging studies, to inform your treatment plans effectively.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized, patient-centered care plans.
• Prescribe medications, administer vaccinations, and provide appropriate treatments while monitoring patient outcomes closely.
• Engage with patients and their families to provide health education on topics such as nutrition, exercise, and disease prevention.
• Participate in case conferences and team meetings to review patient progress and coordinate multidisciplinary care strategies.
• Accurately document all patient encounters and maintain up-to-date electronic health records (EHR), adhering to compliance standards.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes through data analysis and feedback mechanisms.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your practice will primarily focus on the school-aged population, ranging from young children to adolescents. You will play a pivotal role in identifying health issues early and providing timely interventions. Through proactive engagement with students, you will not only treat illnesses but also promote wellness and foster healthy lifestyle choices.

Qualifications

• A valid and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in New York.
• A Bachelor's degree in Nursing; a Master's degree in Nursing or related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
• Demonstrated proficiency in healthcare practices, clinical guidelines, and relevant treatment protocols.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with a focus on evidence-based practice.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills to effectively connect with patients and families.
• Proven organizational and time management skills.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring accurate and efficient patient documentation.

Preferred Experience

Experience working in school-based health services or pediatric settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with community resources, preventive health initiatives, and working with diverse populations will enhance your effectiveness in this role.

Compensation and Benefits
