Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations, including comprehensive health histories and physical exams, to inform patient care decisions.
• Utilize critical thinking and clinical skills to diagnose and manage both acute and chronic conditions, devising tailored treatment strategies within the established scope of a Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
• Order and interpret essential laboratory tests, radiology, and other diagnostic studies to monitor patient health effectively.
• Prescribe necessary pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions and create comprehensive treatment plans aimed at optimizing patient outcomes.
• Develop measurable patient goals and outcomes, regularly assessing the effectiveness of treatment plans and making adjustments as required.
• Engage in health promotion and wellness care, offering anticipatory guidance, and conducting patient and family education sessions to enhance overall health literacy.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Nurse Practitioner will primarily care for adult patients, addressing a wide variety of medical issues often seen in internal medicine. This includes the management of chronic illnesses such as hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease, as well as treatment for acute conditions. Our approach emphasizes holistic care, focusing not just on medical symptoms but also on emotional and social aspects that contribute to a patient’s well-being.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner is required.
• Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses are essential for this role.
• NP Board Certification is mandatory to ensure compliance with national standards.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required to ensure patient safety in emergent situations.
• Strong clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills are necessary for effectively interacting with patients and colleagues.

Preferred Experience

• At least 3 years of advanced practice experience in an internal medicine setting is preferred to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and the ability to manage complex cases independently.

Compensation and Benefits
