Position Overview

Centura Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dedicated and licensed mental health counselor to join our remote team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive mental health care from the comfort of your home. Work Environment

This position is entirely remote, allowing you to maintain a flexible work-life balance while working in the outpatient setting. You will be equipped with the necessary tools and technology to conduct virtual therapy sessions. Our team primarily collaborates using electronic health record systems like AVATAR, ensuring that all client information is securely managed and easily accessible. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through initial consultations, documenting client cases accurately from start to finish.
• Design and implement customized treatment and recovery plans tailored for diverse populations, including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing therapeutic techniques that promote client engagement and progress.
• Continuously monitor client progress throughout the treatment process, making necessary adjustments to intervention plans based on their evolving needs.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure cohesive care and support for clients.
• Timely follow-up with clients admitted to hospitals, coordinating care with attending physicians to ensure consistent treatment.
• Identify and mitigate behaviors that may hinder recovery, providing proactive strategies to address potential setbacks.
• Engage with family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with knowledge and tools to assist clients in managing their mental health challenges.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a diverse clientele, including adults facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and other mental health disorders. This role requires a commitment to cultural competence and sensitivity, ensuring that treatment approaches honor each client's unique background and experiences. Your efforts will directly impact clients' wellbeing, contributing to improved mental health outcomes in the greater New York community.

Qualifications

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
• A passing score on relevant licensing examinations such as the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).
• Demonstrated prior experience as a mental health counselor, with a solid understanding of therapeutic methodologies.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR or similar platforms.
• Understanding of various mental health conditions, including accompanying physical health issues and addiction disorders.
• Knowledge of American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to convey empathy and understanding effortlessly.
• A compassionate nature combined with the capacity to maintain professional boundaries.

Preferred Experience

• Previous work in a remote counseling setting is a plus.
• Experience with clients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Hands-on knowledge of integrative treatment approaches and the latest developments in mental health care.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience. Additionally, new hires may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
