Position Overview

Silver Lining Therapies is actively seeking a dedicated and qualified Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our compassionate team. This full-time role, primarily remote with occasional meetings at our outpatient office in Babylon, New York, is focused on delivering culturally responsive mental health care to a diverse client population. Work Environment

Our workplace is structured to promote both flexibility and collaboration. While the therapy sessions primarily occur in a remote setting, our outpatient office in Babylon serves as a hub for team collaboration and community outreach efforts. You will work alongside psychologists, psychiatrists, and support staff in a supportive and inclusive environment, where every team member’s expertise is valued. Our operational hours span Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, allowing for some flexibility in scheduling to meet patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough and culturally sensitive assessments to understand the unique backgrounds and mental health concerns of patients.
• Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices while respecting patients' culture, values, and personal circumstances.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions aimed at promoting recovery, resilience, and mental health well-being.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring coordinated care through communication with psychiatrists and other health professionals.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support, utilizing de-escalation techniques and therapeutic interventions.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health disorders, treatment pathways, and available resources within the local community.
• Maintain comprehensive and confidential patient records compliant with legal regulations and ethical standards.
• Participate in regular case reviews, team meetings, and ongoing cultural competency and professional development training.
• Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in mental health care, integrating new approaches into your practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population is diverse, consisting of individuals from varied ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Many of our clients include ethnic and cultural minorities, immigrants, and LGBTQ+ individuals seeking mental health support. Your role will involve engaging with these groups in a way that respects their unique experiences, fostering trust and open communication to achieve effective therapeutic outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Active and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
• Demonstrated understanding of mental health disorders, cultural responsiveness, and evidence-based treatment strategies.
• Experience delivering individual and group therapy, particularly in culturally diverse settings.
• Proven crisis intervention skills and the ability to manage high-pressure situations calmly.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on building rapport with individuals from all walks of life.
• Proficient in the use of electronic health records (EHR) and technology platforms relevant to teletherapy.
• Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of experience in a mental health counseling role, particularly in outpatient settings.
• Familiarity with community resources impacting diverse populations and the social determinants of health.
• Expertise in therapy modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care.

Compensation and Benefits
