Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial assessments by performing detailed preliminary interviews and documenting client cases throughout the treatment process, from the first consultation to discharge.

• Evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health by employing standardized screening tools and clinical assessments.
\n
• Develop individualized treatment and recovery plans tailored to the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices and innovative therapeutic techniques to engage clients effectively.
\n
• Monitor and document client progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals—including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers—to create integrated intervention plans.
\n
• Maintain strong follow-up communication with medical professionals for clients who may require hospitalization, ensuring coordinated care.

• Identify potential barriers to recovery and implement strategies to mitigate these challenges effectively.

• Provide support and guidance to family members and primary caregivers, helping them navigate the complexities of mental and behavioral health issues.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Community Counseling Center serves a diverse client population with varying mental health needs, including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related disorders, and substance use challenges. As a mental health counselor, you will play a critical role in empowering clients to overcome their difficulties and improve their overall quality of life.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC/MHSP, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Tennessee.
\n
• A passing score on the NCE and/or the NCMHCE is required.
\n
• Demonstrated experience in mental health counseling, with a solid understanding of therapeutic techniques and practices.

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR or equivalent platforms.
\n
• A strong background in addressing co-occurring disorders and familiarity with addiction treatment modalities.
\n
• Knowledge of best practices as recommended by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for building rapport with clients effectively.
\n
• Empathetic and approachable interpersonal skills, demonstrating a genuine compassion for client well-being.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in providing telehealth services is highly desirable.
