Work Environment

This position is primarily onsite, providing therapy in patients' homes, which necessitates a flexible mindset and adaptability to various environments. You will work closely with a diverse range of patients, thrived in one-on-one settings where your clinical skills directly influence their recovery and independence. Monday to Friday work schedule allows for a structured routine while also offering occasional flexibility to meet patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

Your role as an Orthopedic Physical Therapist will include:

• Designing and implementing effective treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, alleviating pain, and restoring optimal muscle function.
• Overseeing the work of Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure adherence to care plans and uphold standards of care.
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical capabilities through a variety of diagnostic tests.
• Analyzing home environments and recommending modifications to facilitate rehabilitation and greater independence.
• Administering specialized therapies such as manual exercises, traction, and physical agents as prescribed.
• Fitting and adjusting prosthetic and orthotic devices in consultation with physicians and developing strategies for implementation.
• Documenting patient progress accurately, including OASIS evaluations and care plans, while complying with federal, state, and agency regulations.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams during case conferences to provide holistic care strategies.
• Communicating openly with patients and their families to educate them about their therapy program and addressing inquiries related to their progress.
• Ensuring timely submission of documentation and clinical orders as per branch policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a wide variety of patients, primarily focusing on individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, traumatic injuries, and chronic pain conditions. Our aim is to enhance each client's functional ability and independence through customized rehabilitation strategies that are consistently monitored and adjusted to meet their evolving needs.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should possess:

• Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A current physical therapy license in the state of Virginia, maintained in good standing.
• Current CPR certification to ensure patient safety during therapy sessions.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance, as travel between patient homes is required.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of one year of experience in an acute care or home care setting is required, candidates with a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care, particularly in orthopedic rehabilitation, will be favored. Your ability to engage patients and families effectively, along with fostering a collaborative team environment, will be highly valued in this role.

Compensation and Benefits
