This full-time position offers the unique opportunity to provide support and therapeutic services remotely within a school setting, addressing a variety of issues faced by students and their families. You will play an integral role in enhancing the emotional and behavioral well-being of children, adolescents, and their families, guiding them through challenges such as neglect, child abuse, domestic violence, mental health struggles, and parental substance abuse.

Work Environment\n

This position is primarily remote, allowing you to conduct client sessions via phone and video conferencing. However, you will also have the flexibility of in-person interactions when necessary. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of professionals in a virtual environment, ensuring effective communication and comprehensive care for our clients. The school setting allows for direct engagement with students, educators, and their families, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere conducive to healing.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments of clients to gather relevant information, identify their needs, and develop tailored intervention strategies.

• Provide continuous support to clients, facilitating access to therapeutic services via phone or in-person consultations.
\n
• Implement crisis intervention techniques, addressing immediate needs and preventing escalation of behavioral or emotional crises.
\n
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress, share insights, and strategize on best practices for care.
\n
• Assist clients in engaging with community resources and beneficial activities that foster resilience and support positive development.
\n
• Watch for signs of child abuse or neglect, and take appropriate actions to protect vulnerable clients, collaborating with child protective services as needed.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and treatment outcomes, as well as prepare reports as required.
\n
• Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and professional development to enhance skills and community engagement.
\n
• Provide family education, support, and guidance, helping families navigate their roles in the recovery and support process.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on children and adolescents experiencing mental health challenges or situational crises resulting from family stressors, including neglect and abuse. You will work with a diverse client population, understanding and adapting your approaches to meet the unique developmental and cultural needs of each individual, ensuring equitable and effective care.

Qualifications\n

• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) or a related field is required.

• A valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification in the state of New Jersey is mandatory.

• Minimum of two years of clinical experience providing therapeutic services to individuals, preferably in a school or community-based setting.

• In-depth knowledge of assessment, diagnosis, treatment for assigned populations, risk assessment, and crisis management is essential.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information and build rapport with clients and colleagues.
\n
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and maintain comprehensive documentation.

• Understanding of developmental stages and age-appropriate interventions for children and adolescents.

Preferred Experience\n

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred, enabling effective communication with a broader client base.
