As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at LifeLong Mental Healthcare, you will work in a remote outpatient setting that emphasizes flexibility and accessibility. Our practice operates Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some potential for adjusted schedules to meet patient needs. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments using culturally sensitive methodologies to establish individualized treatment plans that reflect each patient’s unique experiences and backgrounds.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to meet the diverse needs of patients, utilizing tools such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and other relevant modalities.

• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions, focusing on cultivating resilience and providing support for various mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, and trauma.

• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care that aligns treatment strategies with patient goals.

• Provide immediate psychological support and crisis interventions during mental health emergencies, ensuring a calm and supportive approach that prioritizes patient safety.

• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment plans, and available community resources, fostering a sense of empowerment and agency in their healing journey.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation consistent with legal and ethical standards, including patient progress notes and treatment outcomes.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. Candidates with a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology will be prioritized.

• Current licensure to practice as a Mental Health Counselor in New York State.

• Strong understanding of culturally competent mental health practices.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with a diverse patient population.
