Work Environment

You will work onsite at our well-equipped rehabilitation facility in North Fort Myers, which is designed to facilitate patient recovery through state-of-the-art treatment modalities and techniques. Your working hours will typically consist of 40 hours per week, with a flexible schedule that may include weekends to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Amedisys, your daily responsibilities will encompass a range of vital tasks, including:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients' functional capabilities and limitations.
• Developing customized treatment plans to address the unique needs of each patient, incorporating evidence-based practices.
• Providing expert consultation to other healthcare providers on each patient's continuum of care to ensure cohesive and effective treatment pathways.
• Maintaining ongoing communication with patients and their families regarding treatment goals, updates, and discharge planning.
• Documenting patient progress accurately in compliance with regulatory standards and submitting charges for services rendered.
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to enhance patient outcomes through shared knowledge and strategic treatment alliances.
• Participating in community outreach initiatives and continuous quality improvement (CQI) programs, contributing to our commitment to excellent patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work primarily with patients experiencing various orthopedic and neurological conditions. By providing tailored interventions and rehabilitation programs, you will empower patients to regain their independence and mobility following injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
• A valid state license to practice Physical Therapy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in word processing and various electronic medical record systems.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient care outcomes.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of 2 years of experience as a practicing Physical Therapist is required, additional experience in a rehabilitation facility setting is preferred. Familiarity with specialized treatment techniques or certifications will also enhance your candidacy.
