Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, or chronic conditions within the rehabilitation facility setting.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique therapeutic goals, employing techniques that may include therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and neuromuscular re-education.
• Utilize various modalities and assistive devices to enhance patient comfort, mobility, and functionality. Recommend appropriate assistive devices for self-care and ambulation as necessary.
• Document treatment plans, patient progress, and modify therapeutic goals based on evaluations and outcomes regularly.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, physicians, and nursing staff, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for all patients.
• Educate patients, caregivers, and family members about treatment protocols, injury prevention strategies, and home exercises to promote recovery.
• Stay current with industry best practices and trends by attending workshops and participating in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on helping diverse patient demographics, including pediatric and adult populations dealing with various health challenges. Your expertise will be critical in guiding patients through tailored rehabilitation processes, ensuring they achieve optimal functional outcomes and enjoy an improved quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited university is required.
• A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Virginia is mandatory.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective patient interactions and documentation.
• Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic computer applications.
• Must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a passion for fostering patient recovery.
• Ability to work collaboratively and maintain flexibility in a dynamic work setting.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in physical therapy is preferred. However, we welcome new graduates who demonstrate potential and a strong willingness to learn and grow.
• Experience in conducting assessments and designing treatment plans tailored to a variety of rehabilitation needs.
• Background in community health or home health settings can be beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits
