Join our dedicated team as a Full-Time Trauma-Informed Mental Health Counselor at Queer Self Care Mental Therapy Center, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting individuals on their journey to recovery from trauma. This position focuses on providing trauma-informed therapy, utilizing best practices to improve the mental health outcomes of our patients, particularly those affected by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and related disorders.

Work Environment\n

This role is entirely remote, allowing you to connect with clients through telehealth platforms. You will work within a flexible schedule predominantly from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the possibility of occasional schedule adjustments to accommodate the needs of our patients. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to accurately understand clients’ trauma histories and individual needs.

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that prioritize trauma healing and foster resilience, utilizing methods such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that encourage clients to process their experiences and develop effective coping strategies.
\n
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure integrated care and holistic treatment options for our clients.

• Provide crisis intervention services during trauma-related emergencies, assessing risks and determining appropriate care strategies.
\n
• Educate clients and their families about trauma reactions and coping techniques, guiding them towards accessible support resources.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential client documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
\n
• Actively engage in team consultations, professional development workshops, and training to continually enhance your therapeutic skills.

• Stay informed on the latest advancements in trauma therapy to provide the highest standard of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary focus is on individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma, including PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will have the opportunity to work with diverse clients, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, and contribute to creating a safe space where they can explore their experiences and heal at their own pace.

Qualifications\n

• A Bachelor's degree in social work, mental health counseling, psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

• A current and valid state license as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or psychologist.

• A solid understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed therapy approaches.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating empathy and a nonjudgmental attitude.

• The ability to remain calm and supportive in high-stress situations, ensuring client safety and comfort.

• Proficiency in electronic health record systems and other digital tools to support client management and therapy documentation.

• A team-player mentality that promotes collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

• While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is encouraged, we value applicants with varied backgrounds in trauma-informed care.

Compensation and Benefits\n

In this role, you can expect a competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 105,000 annually.
