Physical TherapistSTATUS: Full TimeLOCATION: Rochester General Hospital - 1425 Portland Ave, Rochester, NYDEPARTMENT: Physical Medicine & RehabSCHEDULE: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts, Sunday - WednesdaySUMMARYAs a Physical Therapist, you welcome patients and put them at ease. You provide PT to patients with care and compassion to ensure rehabilitation success.Plans, organizes, and implements specific treatment programs for individual patients according to the principles and practices of physical therapy. Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment team. Assess patient impairment and current condition to evaluate rehabilitation potential; report on patient progress, communicate effectively with physician and other team members; counsel patient and family according to degree of disability or impairmentTreatment & Planning. Develop physical therapy treatment project for each patient, including training in functional mobility, use of assistive devices, therapeutic exercise, balance and coordination retraining, massage, heat, and cryotherapy; apply diagnostic and progressive functionality testsLeadership. Train, mentor, and coach team members to ensure standards of the department are met; address scheduling needs to ensure proper coverage is providedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Doctorate or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy, or Bachelor's degree with prior experience as a licensed Physical Therapist requiredFOR ElderONE EMPLOYMENT: 1 year of experience with the frail elderly population preferred, and availability of a motor vehicle.Required Licensure/Certification Skills:Current New York State license or a limited permit as a Registered Physical TherapistIf a New York State license or limited permit is not held, the applicant must be hired within 90 days of graduation from a New York State or APTA-accredited physical therapist education program and meet Practice Exemption under New York State Physical Therapy License Requirements.If working in Homecare or traveling between locations, a NYS license is required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Prior Physical Therapist experience preferred.EDUCATION:LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.Any physical requirements reported by a prospective employee and/or employee's physician or delegate will be considered for accommodations.PAY RANGE:$71,000.00 - $101,920.00CITY:RochesterPOSTAL CODE:14621The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
