Work Environment

Your work will take place in a state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility where teamwork and innovation thrive. The work schedule is from Monday to Friday, typically between the hours of 2 PM and 8 PM, allowing for a balanced professional and personal life.

Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will be tasked with a variety of critical responsibilities that are essential for patient care and recovery, including:

• Developing and managing tailored therapeutic care plans for an assigned caseload of patients in close collaboration with physicians and the broader patient care team.
• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments, utilizing evidence-based methodologies to identify rehabilitation needs, and creating individualized treatment plans aimed at achieving key patient goals.
• Implementing and guiding patients through therapeutic interventions, ensuring adherence to legal and professional ethical standards.
• Monitoring rehabilitation progress through ongoing evaluations and adjusting treatment approaches as necessary to optimize outcomes.
• Providing education and training for patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, the use of assistive devices, and other home care protocols.
• Coordinating daily caseloads, prioritizing tasks effectively, and overseeing staff assignments to ensure comprehensive patient coverage.
• Contributing to team meetings and case discussions, sharing insights that assist in developing holistic care plans for complex orthopedic cases.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role will focus on diverse patient demographics, including both adults and pediatric patients recovering from orthopedic conditions, surgical interventions, and sports-related injuries. You will play an instrumental part in facilitating their physical rehabilitation processes, empowering them to regain mobility, strength, and overall quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy is required; a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree is preferred.
• Valid and active licensure as a Physical Therapist in New York State.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

Preferred Experience

• While prior experience is not required for this role, we welcome candidates with clinical internships or professional practice focusing on orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and digital documentation tools to enhance patient care management.
