Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate the mental health needs and personal goals of individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders, ensuring a tailored approach to care.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to the unique circumstances of each patient.

• Facilitate individual counseling sessions that may employ various methodologies, including motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy, tailored to help clients progress in their recovery.

• Lead engaging group therapy sessions that foster shared learning and support among clients navigating their recovery journeys.

• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, addiction specialists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive care for patients and address any complex needs as they arise.

• Provide crisis intervention as necessary, offering immediate support during times of acute distress related to substance use challenges.

• Educate patients and their families about the nature of addiction, effective recovery strategies, and available community resources for ongoing support.

• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with legal and ethical standards through accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT in the state of Maryland is mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits\n
