Work Environment\n

This position allows for a flexible remote work setup while also providing opportunities to engage directly with patients at our outpatient facility. Your typical work schedule will be Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening shifts as needed to cater to patient requirements. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct in-depth mental health assessments that focus on the unique psychological, cognitive, and emotional needs of older adults.

• Develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices, cognitive considerations, and the holistic wellbeing of patients.

• Deliver high-quality therapy sessions, utilizing both individual and family therapy to address various geriatric psychiatric conditions such as depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders.

• Collaborate effectively with geriatric psychiatrists, social workers, and other mental health professionals to create a seamless treatment experience for our clients.

• Respond to mental health emergencies with timely crisis intervention strategies to stabilize elderly patients and ensure their safety.

• Provide education to patients and their families regarding mental health issues, treatment options, and community resources, thereby empowering them to make informed decisions.

• Document patient progress meticulously in compliance with legal and ethical standards, while utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain accurate records.

• Actively engage in ongoing professional development through continuous education opportunities and participation in team meetings and case consultations.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role focuses primarily on the geriatric population, addressing a wide variety of mental health disorders common in older adults such as depression, anxiety, dementia-related disorders, and adjustment difficulties. You will be instrumental in providing specialized support to elderly clients, helping them navigate the complexities of aging while ensuring that their mental health needs are met comprehensively.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Possession of a valid and current license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or a licensed psychologist in California.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling, specifically working with the elderly population.

• A strong understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities tailored for older adults.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on a patient-centered and empathetic approach.

Compensation and Benefits\n
