Key Responsibilities

As an LCSW, you will assume several key responsibilities aimed at providing top-tier mental health care to students. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

• Conducting thorough clinical assessments to understand the psychological and emotional needs of students and developing tailored treatment plans that incorporate best practices and evidence-based interventions.
• Utilizing therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help clients address issues ranging from anxiety and depression to behavioral challenges.
• Maintaining detailed and organized clinical records to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while providing insights for effective treatment adjustments.
• Engaging in inter-professional collaboration with educators and other mental health professionals to coordinate comprehensive care approaches for students.
• Participating in case consultations and peer review meetings to share insights and enhance the quality of our treatment methodologies.
• Providing educational resources and training for families and staff regarding mental health topics relevant to student populations.
• Staying abreast of current research trends and adapting new practices into your clinical approach to continually improve patient outcomes.
• Managing a full caseload with the goal of effectively addressing treatment milestones while ensuring ethical standards as stipulated by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary clients will be students and their families, who may be facing a range of mental health issues. This role is pivotal in helping young individuals navigate emotional distress, family issues, peer pressures, and other life challenges that can adversely affect their academic and social successes. By focusing on a strength-based, solution-oriented clinical approach, you will aid in fostering resilience and coping strategies among young clients.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• A valid license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Texas.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience providing psychotherapy in clinical settings, specifically with school-aged children or adolescents.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based psychotherapy techniques and interventions.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Adaptive problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and demonstrated teamwork proficiency.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a school environment or with educational professionals.
• Familiarity with specialized populations such as students with special educational needs.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing group therapy sessions or workshops.
• Knowledge of local community resources that support mental health initiatives.

Compensation and Benefits
