Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Physical Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Developing and executing personalized treatment plans to prevent disability, relieve pain, and enhance mobility.
• Overseeing the implementation of these plans by physically guiding and supervising Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of clients' functional abilities through diagnostic assessments and home environment analyses, providing recommendations for increasing independence.
• Completing detailed clinical documentation, including initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring meticulous record-keeping for patient treatment histories.
• Administering a variety of therapeutic interventions, such as manual exercises, traction, and massage, to aid in the recovery process.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members during case conferences to evaluate client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Educating clients and families on the effective use of physical therapy devices and care programs.
• Proactively communicating observed changes in clients' conditions to both their physician and case manager to adapt care strategies accordingly.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will focus on a diverse range of clients, including elderly individuals recovering from surgery, patients with chronic pain, and those rehabilitating from injuries. Each client presents unique challenges and requiring custom approaches to therapy, allowing you to tailor your care strategies to fit individual needs and promote their independence and overall well-being.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
• A valid, current state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Florida.
• Current CPR certification and a valid driver's license with automobile insurance.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with patients and their families.
• A proactive mindset, capable of making informed decisions and advocating for patients' needs.

Preferred Experience

While the role requires a minimum of two years of clinical experience, preference will be given to candidates with experience in home care or acute care settings. Familiarity with federal, state, and governing agency regulations governing home healthcare practices will also be advantageous.
